Textile Weaving Archives

Expanded our regional textile collection to 450+ pieces spanning three centuries of weaving traditions. Our docents now lead specialized tours exploring indigo dyeing, pattern origins, and the artisans preserving these techniques in our community today.

Woodcarving Traditions Gallery

Curated and installed a dedicated woodcarving gallery featuring 180 carved pieces from 47 regional artisans. We developed hands-on carving workshops where visitors ages 8 and up learn chip carving and relief techniques from master craftspeople.

Community Program 2023-2024

Basket-Making Workshops

Launched a year-round basket-making program with 12 instructional sessions. Over 90 participants learned traditional reed and willow weaving. We partnered with three local artisans to ensure authentic techniques and cultural context in every session.

Artisan Heritage Fair

Organized our largest craft fair yet, bringing together 35 regional artisans across textile, woodcarving, and basket-making traditions. The two-day event drew 1,200 visitors and raised funds supporting ongoing heritage preservation and artisan education programs.
